Model iG3 gateway increases Xanboo's in-home functionality. SDK 1.0 allows service providers to easily configure Xanboo applications.

New York, NY November 4, 2002 - Xanboo, Inc., a technology platform provider of Internet based remote access applications and services, announced today the release of two key products that will serve to propel Xanboo's technology and business model forward by enabling a new suite of applications and services for its partners. The two products add to Xanboo's existing product and service offering and provide even more CPE product choices, together with a more flexible backend environment from which to create customized applications. These applications include home monitoring and security, energy management, appliance control, remote healthcare, automotive, device telemetry and much more.

Xanboo Model iG3 Multimedia Gateway

The Model iG3 Multimedia Gateway represents an evolution from Xanboo's first generation Windows-based product line in terms of functionality and serviceability. The gateway contains Xanboo's new AFM II wireless protocol for communicating with Xanboo's extensive product line of wireless cameras, sensors, controls and thermostats.

"By expanding the product line beyond a PC, we've allowed the Xanboo client software to function in a customized environment, thereby increasing the reliability of the in home network," said Xanboo CEO Bob Diamond. "The gateway is remotely upgradeable, comes in both professional and consumer versions, and is quite affordable and easy to use."

The Xanboo Gateway is the only non-PC based platform available today for remote access and control of devices over the Internet. It will initially be rolled out on an OEM basis to Xanboo's partners, which include telephone companies and security service providers. In addition to the embedded iG3 Gateway, Xanboo also offers additional non-embedded software clients and hardware options that can be made available to its partners in numerous operating systems and gateway configurations.

SDK 1.0
Xanboo's backend Software Development Kit (SDK 1.0) is the primary tool that partners will use to customize Xanboo's remote access technology and applications for their specific needs. With the Xanboo SDK, partners will be able to:
  • Easily customize the web interface to meet their branded specifications
  • Integrate the service and application into an existing web portal or framework
  • Seamlessly connect to existing billing, CRM and account management procedures
  • Customize device functionality and device look and feel
  • Add new devices (thermostat, appliance) and modules (scheduling, mobile interface, graphical analysis) at will
  • Customize administrative rules for device and service access on a per user or per group basis
"The SDK version 1.0 is a key step in the evolution of our service package," cited Babak Rezvani, CTO of Xanboo. "It is an extremely powerful tool that allows our partners to build applications that fit the needs of their marketplace. Xanboo is about the command and control of devices from anywhere in the world, over the Internet. The SDK 1.0 is the tool that allows our partner to build on this core technology to design Internet-based services in energy management, security and monitoring, healthcare, device diagnostics and more."

With the launch of these new products, Xanboo continues to expand its business into a number of different broadband-based vertical markets that are emerging around the Internet. As the only end-to-end provider of remote access technology for networked devices, Xanboo continues to development new products and applications while maintaining its paradigms of delivering mass-market ready solutions that are low-cost, robust, secure and easy to use.
